Auction 2019 – Information for Parents

1. Attending the Auction

This years auction will take place on Friday, 14th June 2019 in the school hall.  Please note that this is strictly an adults only event.  Doors open from 6:30 pm with the bidding starting at 7:00pm.  You do not require tickets in advance, however, you will need to obtain a bidding number on arrival to be able to take part in the auction.  There is a pay bar and homemade food made by parents for all to enjoy.

2. Donating items

The ‘Donations Team‘ composed of parent volunteers from St. Vincent’s, are hard at work, visiting local businesses securing items for the auction.  Help us by donating an item you think a St Vincent’s School family, friend or visitor would enjoy. All items donated get displayed onto an Auction Magazine which is them circulated to all parents and local businesses. See last years AuctionCatalogue2018

If you are new to the event, below are ideas of how you could donate.

If you regularly use a business, eat at a restaurant, use a beauty service, frequent a retail store, ask if they are willing to offer a voucher or donate an item.  Previously donated items have included:

  • Lunch or dinner vouchers for restaurants
  • Hair/beauty/massage treatments
  • Retail merchandise (new or excellent condition)
  • Gym memberships
  • Holiday home stays/nights at hotels
  • Football tickets / Gran Prix / Polo match tickets / theatre tickets
  • Decorative items for the home

Other ideas might include offering a service to St. Vincent families such as; language, dance, swimming lessons, or food preparation for dinner parties.

When approaching external businesses please use the Auction Letter to business 2019  It has a little more detail about St Vincent’s school, why we need fundraising, and how the money will be used.

3. Advertise

Advertising is a great new source of income as it allowed some business who cannot donate their services a chance to support the school.  Our auction magazine will be distributed to local businesses as well as to every St Vincent’s family. If you own or work for a business, this will be a great opportunity to place an advertisement in it.  Please contact the SVPA at advert@svpa.org.uk

4. Volunteer

Volunteer

There are many ways in which you can get involved.  Whether you can spare one hour or several, every bit helps to share the job around.  Help is needed at various stages; in the months before, days before, as well as on the night.  Below are a few examples:

Before e.g. Visiting shops and business local to the school to secure donations e.g. Contacting shops and businesses you use or have contacts with, who might be able to donate

On the night e.g. Decorating the hall for the Auction evening e.g. Provide food for the evening e.g. Help serve on the bar

Please contact us at  hello@svpa.org.uk or speak to your year reprasentative if you need more information.
